51 percent Pakistanis satisfied with PM Imran Khan's performance: Survey
The Survey was conducted by the Gallup & Gilani Pakistan.
(Web Desk) – The approval rating of the Prime Minister amongst the masses stands at a flattering 51%, a recent survey was conducted to judge the satisfaction level of the populace with the overall performance of the new reigned in Premier who took office in August 2018.
The Gilani Research Foundation Survey conducted by Gallup & Gilani Pakistan showed PM Khan, 65, to meet a favorable positive impression of 51%, more than half of the nation.
The nationwide survey was based on a sample of men and women from the four provinces who were asked to describe their opinion about the PM’s performance till date on a scale of very good to bad.
According to Gallup Pakistan the question put before the respondents was “What is your opinion on Prime Minister Imran Khan’s overall performance up until now, i.e., since his winning the 2018 elections?”
In response 13% rated it very good, 38% good, 26% said bad, 20% very bad, while 3% did not know or did not wish to respond.
Difference of opinion was observed among the urban and rural respondents. Urban populace was more optimistic about the Prime Minter’s performance. On the scale of very good to bad, 15% believed PM Khan’s performance to be very good, 44% considered it had been good, while 23% thought it had been bad, 16% said very bad, and 2% either did not know or did not wish to disclose on the matter.
Among rural respondents, only 12% judged the performance as very good, 35% considered it good, 27% deemed the performance bad, and 22% evaluated it to be very bad, while 4% did not know or did not wish to respond.
A difference of opinion was also observed among the age brackets of under-30 and those above. That under-30 opined a relative optimistic outlook towards the premier, 15% rated the performance as very good, 40% gauged it to be good, 19% rated the performance to be bad, and 24% measured the performance to be very bad, while 2% did not respond.
The 30 to 50 age group classified the performance with the following percentages, 14% weighed the performance as very good, 37% good, 27% bad, 18% very bad, while 4% chose not to respond.
The50+ age group held a different view point, only 3% ranked the performance as very good, 40% accounted it as good, 39% categorized the performance bad and 12% very bad, while 6% choose not to respond.
The survey was conducted from 22–29 December, 2018, based on a sample of 1,141 urban men and women from the four provinces.
